Let Go of certainty – Walsall College Student Project

Students from Walsall College have come together to co-curate Let Go of Certainty, an exhibition inspired by some of the universal themes in Damien Hirst’s work, such as death, destruction, belief and rebirth. This powerful display features contemporary works drawn from the Gallery’s collection by Vidya Gastaldon, Phil Brooks, Christopher Le Brun, Dorothy Cross, Christian Marclay, Andrew Tift, Tom Ormond, and Ron Mueck, among others.

Curators: Daisy Craven, Seliesha Chahal, Patricia Andrew, Katherine Blower, Amelia Rochelle-Bates, Sophie Evans, Gemma Ford, Frances Hawkes, Dagmara Milosz, Gursharen Kaur Nagra, Rebecca Hotchkiss, Robert Andrews.

“I have always enjoyed going to art galleries and always wondered what goes on behind the scenes, so it has been great to find out. And even better to curate our own show.”

“This project has been brilliant/inspiring and allows the creativity to really flow into something productive.”

“It is interesting to find yourself at the heart of such an amazing project. It has been a unique experience, a journey, an exploration into very human experiences that we all have come across in our lives.”
