The New Art Gallery Walsall is committed in providing a safe, welcoming and friendly environment, its staff expertise, facilities and resources in order to help 11 – 25 year-old young people gain their Arts Award, find out about, enjoy and take part in visual arts activities, and develop their own skills as artists and creative practitioners, as well as future leaders.
As an Arts Awards Welcome organisation we offer opportunities to young people undertaking their Arts Award to:
- Visit our exhibitions and collections and have talks by members of our staff
- Participate in workshops, events and other gallery-based activities
- Interview the gallery’s staff and learn more about the skills, knowledge and experience required to work within a gallery
- Meet and interact with artists, freelancers, educators and other visual arts professionals
- Have behind the scenes tours of the gallery
- Use our activity rooms to create work related with their Arts Award with the assistance of their Advisers
- Volunteer to undertake art related research on behalf of the gallery
The New Art Gallery Walsall is committed to equal opportunities, diversity, and inclusion, and has adopted and carried out relevant policies and procedures to support this commitment.
