Lucienne Cole- Bits of Paper and things
Last time I was at the studio I took to a bit of old fashioned collage and re-discovered the joys of origami paper.

Lucienne Cole- The Band?

The Senior Citizen's Swing Band, Forest Arts Centre
Meet The boys!
These lads , some of whom have been playing together for over tweny years, have still got what it takes. I was kindly allowed to sit in on a rehearsal. During the tea break I was promptly told to bear in mind everything being played was from first sighting i.e they had not played before, ” we are much better than this normally”. Well I was impressed and was welcomed warmly.
Im sure I recognised The Saturday Night Stomp?

Best Foot Forward
I went along to Tap class at Forest Arts Center On Thursday and shuffled around – it’s been a while, but it’s cracking.
Fred Astaire was my first hero.
He still is.
What style, what grace.
” Can’t act, can’t sing, balding, can dance a little” ( The verdict passed on Fred’s first screen test!)

Here’s some suggestions I received.
Lucienne Cole Dances Into Town
Welcome to Artist In Residence, Lucienne Cole.
As part of the gallery’s 10th birthday celebrations, Lucienne is inviting the public to be part of a celebratory display that’s all singing, all dancing and spilling over in crepe paper and confectionary!
Over the next few months she will be participating in numerous dance classes across the Borough and meeting amateur dancers of all ages. Together, with local residents, she plans to choreograph a lo-fi theatrical extravaganza inspired by the musical films of Busby Berkeley and Bauhaus Theatre. A grand finale will take place at The New Art Gallery Walsall in April 2010 – along with a cake competition.
