In February 2010, The New Art Gallery Walsall celebrates its tenth birthday with the exhibition ‘Party!’

To celebrate this momentous occasion, The New Art Gallery Walsall would like to invite you, friends and family to come and celebrate with the gallery team on:

Thursday 11 February 2010, 4pm – 9pm so please Save the Date in your diary.

Come early at 4pm to see Bob and Roberta Smith, our artist in residence, presenting his research and findings to date on the Epstein Archive and The Garman Ryan Collection and listen to him and his band perform later on that night followed by Gavin Turk playing some of his favourite tunes!! That’s a good lineup isn’t it??!!

Party! is an exhibition designed to celebrate ten years of achievement and features over 40 participating artists. The exhibition will contain a consciously eclectic selection of artists, mostly contemporary, though some modern and historic works will also appear. The party theme extends across music, song and dance, performance, bar culture, food and drink, dress and decorations. Amongst the air of celebration, there will lurk darker undercurrents and a more sinister edge!

Also, as part of the 10th Anniversary Celebrations, Birthday cards created by artists who have shown at the New Art Gallery over the past 10 years will be shown in the Garman Ryan Galleries.

It has been an amazing ten years and I really hope you are able to celebrate with us and we have included some details for hotels should you wish to stay over.
