more new books!

Well, i’ve spent the last day or two cataloguing more new books for the Art Library. Highlights include:

The Futurism catalogue from the latest Tate Modern exhibition on this contorversial Italian art movement (the exhibition closes on 20th september i think)

Autumn Flowers, a catalogue on Nina Saunders‘ exhibition at Pallant House Gallery

We’ve also got copies of Endless Supply, an exciting new artists’ zine indepentantly published in Birmingham.

If you’re an artist producing any sort of publication, from photocopied zines to leatherbound gold embossed editions, please contact us artlibrary@walsall.gov.uk.

Speed Tours

Join me for Speed Tours – very quick tours of the gallery for those who are always short of time!

Speed tours will take place from Saturday 22nd – Wednesday 26th August at 12 noon each day (prompt start!)

Tours are going to be quick so you can squeeze them in during your lunch break! Each tour gives you an overview of the building and activities going on inside it from the perspective of various gallery team members: Gallery Assistant, Curator, Librarian, Cleaner…See the building anew!

There is no need to book. Just come to the gallery few seconds before 12 noon and wait by the board next to the reception desk. Speed tours are going to be speedy and will last approximately 15 min.

A final Tea Party will also take place in the Artists’ Studio on Thursday 27th August from 12pm-2pm to celebrate the end of my residency. Good news: I will be back! I am creating a series of alternative guided tours of the gallery which will be launched in December. More info coming soon….
